how to style the naked cake
I did the flowers!
when inviting my third guest to the studio and thinking about the dishes we would prepare and photograph; there was no doubt we would do a cake! Emma is someone I look up to when it comes to baking, it’s something I still find difficult.
moral; if two individuals work together, I think it's important that you do what you do best. so I did the flowers, styling and photography of the cake. that’s why we decided to do a naked cake, adding flowers give more value to this type of pastry. if you have party and bake or get a naked cake, you can use my tips below to style them with flowers.
for choosing the flowers, I made sure the colors fit the cake. it was not an easy styling, I must say. so make sure you have enough options to combine. lot’s of green is always a good choice, but I also chose colors that match with the filling. we had a cassis filling, so I chose some bordeaux. you can see it in the branches and leaves. on top of the cake we chose for white, small flowers to match with the cream and blackberries. it gives a nice contrast.
try not to overdo with flowers; choose two flowers and one green brach and I think you can create a lovely scenery at your serving table.
we topped the cake with blackberries, so for the cutlery I chose black and the speckled plates give the cake an even more tasty look!
