easter festive tip ∙ fresh flowers
in this festive tip we are going to create a very easy centerpiece with fresh flowers. for this centerpiece you can choose whatever flower you want: color, shape, scent… just remember to match the rest of your table setting. I found out this idea about the centerpiece in a restaurant where they served vegetables as a side dish this way. it was a very elegant, playful way of presenting a fresh product on a table. the white paper gives the freedom to add every color you like. find out which flowers I chose.
as tableware, I didn’t use any yellow in my tableware so I added some details of yellow in my flowers with the craspedia and mimosa. I think the mimosa represent easter very well with their roundness and softness. the craspedia is rather fixed and the center of the centerpiece. that’s why I added just one of them.
to combine with the yellow, I chose some white flowers as well; the daisy and white anemone. I left the stem of the white anemones long because I love their curved shape and how they lay very elegant next to a plate or bowl. it’s nice to play with the different kinds of shapes in your centerpiece, dare to vary with length.
as paper I used white tissue paper, fold it in half and make a turn at one corner. lay your flowers in the paper as you can see on the picture.
an important note for this centerpiece: buy your flowers the day itself because we won’t give them water as they’re laying on your table setting. leave them watered as long as you can and place the centerpiece just before your guests arrive. if you have really delicate flowers and a long dining, put the flowers in test tubes with water and insert them deep into the end of the paper.
